Gold isn’t exactly scarce - players find it on a wide variety of enemies, pick it up from chests, and receive it in return for successful missions in Dragon's Dogma 2. The problem is that most in-game items are surprisingly expensive. This isn't necessarily a failure of balance, or even an attempt to get players to spring for microtransactions in Dragon's Dogma 2, but rather a provision for players to count their coins carefully.
